I just got back from my Shabbat in Alon Shvut. It was the most amazing Shabbat ever. I think what struck me the most beyond the amazingness of Tovah Leah and her family was the normalcy of it all. It wasn't scary, no one was being shot at, we didn't wear bullet-proof vests...Everything was at peace, and I felt perfectly safe.
Now back to the family and stuff. I was there with Yona, this girl Elisheva who will be at Pardes this year, and Rebecca, who came for the afternoon. Tovah Leah has 7 kids, 6 of which were home for the weekend. [Ariel, the 3rd oldest was at a shabbaton]. The older girls Michal and Rahel were really sweet, the little ones, Talya, Tehila, and Amichai were really cute, and Matan, the oldest son [19 and a paratrooper and medic] was really nice. And really hot. *swoon* I could marry him and be Tovah Leah's daughter-in-law.
Yona doesn't agree with the settlements, and I totally understand her. But at the same time I would never want to give up the Gush. I seriously would consider living there. Though it would be hard, cause I don't even know if I want to tell my parents about this Shabbat, let alone ask them to visit me...
So yeah, that was my Shabbat. I'm sad that it had to end, but this way I can post about it.
