Ridiculous amount of gaming weekend
Feb. 14th, 2009 10:23 pmThis is the weekend of gaming. JB started a Dogs in the Vineyard campaign that meets on Saturdays. Only we're doing it in a Cthulu Lovecraftian setting as opposed to being Mormon paladins in the West That Never Was. We created characters on Thursday night and had the first meeting today, and it is made of awesome. The system is different from d20 based ones, and makes a lot more sense, especially in terms of combat and stuff. I'm a fan.
Then tomorrow I'm doing character creation for N's monk campaign, but he also offered to run a solo session for me. So that will also be awesome.
And if that wasn't enough gaming, my/dsKC's campaign from the summer is finally meeting again on Monday. And we might have the entire group because I ran into JM on Friday night at Hillel (which was completely unexpected) and asked if he could exist on Monday and he said he might be able to, depending on how much work he got done between then and Monday.
So that's 3 different games that are meeting this weekend. dsKC's hardly ever exists, so this is probably not going to happen again any time in the near future, though N and JM's campaigns will both meet on a weekly basis, so I'm back to having active campaigns again. And back to them being campaigns that I look forward to all week, as opposed to my sad, sad, sad D&D campaign of doom. An analogy:
dsKC's campaign/N's campaign/JB's campaign:sad D&D campaign::Settlers of Catan:Civil War 2061.
Also, NM and I decided that in the year 2061 HRSFA has to have a reunion that involves a Civil War reenactment.
