So after 2 days, we are pretty much done with moving into 309. My room is big enough for all of my stuff, and I still have a lot of floor space. I'm near pretty much all of my friends and all the buildings I frequent, with the exception of Bubble House.
Today Gwen and I went to Van Pelt. Gwen "did research" while I knitted. It's weird to not have anything to study. I suppose I can read more Pern books.
We then went to Citizens to get me money, and then to the small bookstore. They have the section of books for class roped off, sadly, so I could not see what books I needed.
After going to get bubble tea [finally!] we ventured into the giant Penn bookstore. I looked up what I needed. Only one of my classes has stuff there, and the one book I can't find online for it wasn't in the bookestore either [anyone have the standard translation of the JPS Tanakh? anyone?] I wrote down titles and ordered them at Amazon and half.com. And I own one book already, so go me!
Joey came at like 3:30 to install my printer. It is pretty. Yay for Joey!
Ariela came, and I saw her parents, who are very nice, and not as hobbity as my parents are. I kashered the oven mostly by myself, except for when Gwen had to reach in to wipe off the easy-off on the back wall, since I was too short to reach that far. I suppose I could have crawled in, but that's not a pleasant idea.
I had Mincha and Maariv then, completing my first day of doing all 3 minyanim since last semester. I felt good. My dad called [twice!] during minyan. Actually, he called during the shmoneh esrei. I got kinda pissed about that.
Gwen taught me how to knit zig-zags, so I'm going to knit a giant blanket out of my homespun stuff for The Bess. She needs it, going to college in Illinois.
Shlomo made the time to come by for a good 45 minutes tonight. I showed him the kippah that I'm knitting Joey.
Ari came by during that time. I showed them my shtender, which is currently on the top shelf [which I can't reach...] and they started telling a joke about how they wanted to put the Gemaras on the top shelf of the beit midrash. Grrr! Stupid boys. I can and will study Gemara, even if I have to climb to get a copy! Or I could just stand on a chair...I hit Shlomo with a stuffed cat for that one. At least it wasn't a knitting needle!
I think I'll put the Gemaras on the very, very bottom shelf. :-p
Now that Shlomo is gone, I will probably go to sleep. Minyan is at 7am, and although I'm not obligated to go, I like it better than davening on my own.
So goodnight, all!
