I have most of my courses set, and I got into one of the two seminars (Ritual, Gender, and Space in Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity). Unfortunately the seminar doesn't fit into my area of study as of now. I suppose if I continue with Religion and the social sciences, I could petition for it to fit in there. If I'm doing Religion, Literature and Culture, I probably can't count it. With that Area of Focus, if I take another course called Ritualization (which seems interesting) as well as the Comparative Religion course that KO was shopping with me on Wednesday, I would then have 2 classes this semester and one last semester in that area. Also, I could petition for Paul's Letters class to fit there. Then I'd have 4 (assuming the petition works). And I need 6 total. The problem is that the Positive Psychology class (which fills no requirements but gives a graduate credit) conflicts with Ritualization (the former is 11:30-1 Tuesday and Thursday and the latter is 10-12 Tuesdays.) I think I will e-mail Dr. Machinist and see what he has to say.
