I scheduled a massage appointment for 2PM on Monday. I definitely need it, considering that I'm still in tons of pain and it doesn't seem to be getting any better, even when I'm not carrying anything. Ow.

Unfortunately, I still need to survive until Monday. And now I have a ton of books for my two papers, which combined are quite heavy. I need to have someone who can follow me around and carry all my heavy things for me.

And now [livejournal.com profile] landofnowhere is here, so I shall end this entry.

Have you seen a doctor about this pain? No one deserves to be in pain and there are medications which can help. Ibuprofen is the first line, but you can add in others of the Rx brand. Some of them make you sleep real good.

I'd rather treat the source of the pain than the symptoms, and I feel like I'm on enough a lot of drugs now, so I'd need to make sure they don't explode when combined. That, and I don't want to be falling asleep during the day (and it hurts more while I'm running around doing things.)

If it persists past Monday I'll look into getting real drugs.

Treating the source isn't always an option. Massage is just one tool in the box. Ibuprofen is great as it's an anti-inflammatory. If it's a spasm, the doc can prescribe an anti-spasmodic like Skelaxin or Flexeril. It's always worth it to get any and all pain that lasts more than a few days checked out by a doctor. They might prescribe physical therapy, which your insurance usually would cover, which includes massage, ultrasound and exercises. Very worth it.
