I am sitting here wanting sanity...
Jan. 23rd, 2004 01:35 amActually, I'm fine, but "Wanting Memories" came up in a movie we were watching called "spellbound." It's a documentary about kids in a spelling bee, but it's hilarious. However, the clip of them singing the song gave me flashbacks. Good old Choral Ensemble...Singing "Wanting Memories" instead of any real music. At least I could hit the alto part. And we had like 3 altos because Alicia wouldn't sing it for religious reasons...there's the part "to see the beauty in the world through my own eyes" and she says you have to see everything through "Christ's Eyes." Meanwhile the year before that, I, a Jew, sang "Magnum Mysterium" which was all about Jesus. Granted, it was in Latin, but it was still saying the same thing.
I got all my non-academic work done today, which included calling tech support to send back my broken digital camera, calling the JLI about the Israel trip, and lots o' laundry. I even got a chapter of social psych done, though I realized I could have saved it for shabbat, since I can't highlight it anyways, since the book belongs to Julie Garson.
I even knitted a bit. Go knitting.
Tomorrow night I get to sleep in 209, Ilana's room, so I can wake up for 9am services for my torahness...which I probably should learn...
