Cool... is the lack of flash deliberate? I love the pomegranites even so.

Pomegranites rock. A bunch of us shared one at lunch and I took one home. And there would have been more in the picture, but someone got in front of me, was standing there a long time so I couldn't get in to take the picture, and then took some, so it was lees pomegraniteful.

And "pomegrenades" is a reference to Trudy Dothan. Apparently when she wanted to photograph a locus, she didn't like having sandbags on the balks. So she would tell everybody (in her Israeli accent) "No sacks on the balks!*" (I'm sure you can figure that out.) And she called pomegranites "pomegrenades." She likes to play with language...

And she came and spoke to us when I was at Safi. She's really cool.

*At one of my friend's other digs, I think it was Ami Mazar, but I'm not sure, did want the sand-bags in the pictures, and he would say (also in an Israeli accent) "I want to see sacks on the balks..." (but unlike Trudy he didn't realize what he was saying...) Yeah. Weird Israeli archaeological sense of humor. Why am I going into this field?
