And my mom called me yesterday. Apparently I got a letter, from a Levine in Teaneck (I know 2 people from there with that last name) but mom was at work. So this morning she e-mailed me- it's an invitation to Ari Levine and Ariela Schwartz's engagement party in September. Yay!

And today is Tu B'Av, the Jewish semi-parallel of Valentine's Day, though ours came way before Christianity/Hallmark thought up their holiday. I'm being very silly, and wearing all white. I'm probably not going to dance in a field to catch myself a husband.

And a few days ago when [livejournal.com profile] boroparkpyro and I were in the supermarket, we saw some valentine's day chocolate being sold. So he decided to get one that said "Be my Valentine" and cross out "Valentine" and write "Tu b'Av" instead and he gave it to a friend of his. Very amusing.

Though I don't think people generally give chocolate and flowers today.

I might call A.G. after she's done chevruating and see if she wants to get together and maybe we can give each other flowers and/or chocolate in honor of my singleness and her boyfriend being on a different continent. I mean, it's not necessary, but it would make me happy, since no one ever gets me flowers, especially on Tu B'Av or Valentine's day, with the possible exception of when Mikey got me flowers for my birthday when I had told him (a while ago when he gave me and my roommate a boquet of paper flowers that he made with little pieces of scrap paper) that no guy had ever given me flowers before. And no guy since then either. It's not such a big deal, but days like this I think are meant to rub in people's singleness while the rest of the world holds hands and gives each other presents and writes each other sappy love letters/e-mails...

Yeah. No field dancing. If a guy likes me he can go ahead and ask me out. And besides, I feel like it would be kind of sketch to meet a random guy while dancing in the field. Even if I'm in Israel. Especially because I'm in Israel. I mean the original biblical story is pretty sketch. And nice religious boys aren't supposed to watch women dancing.

Instead, I go to the Rockefeller Museum today, and possibly Hebrew U. as well. W00t!

[Though if anyone does want to get me flowers or chocolate or yarn, go right ahead. OOh! I can just picture it! A boquet of yarn!!!]
