The dig is pretty much over. Today we cleaned the square to make it look pretty for the aerial photographs. And I fell and got attacked by a thornbush. I still have some thorns in my palm that I couldn't tweeze out.

I'm more fit than I've been since I can remember. I can carry 2 heavy buckets of water at once- one in each arm. I can run up the tel (though I might fall). I have all this energy, assuming I eat enough.

Of course, it's not so easy when the main course for dinner is RICE!!! RICE! As a MAIN COURSE!!!! WTF? Yeah. That was last night. (they also had peaches and I wanted a plum, so I tried to get them to turn into plums. It didn't really work, but then after lecuture there wasa box with 2 plums and a peach. So of course that means that they were all once peaches and 2 of them turned into plums and the third was in the process. I win!) Today I ate well before the fast started (with [livejournal.com profile] tobeginagain), so I should be ok. I'm drinking water, but I'll try to fast as much as possible.

And I had a weird dream 2 nights ago that I was asked to lein a column and a half for Kedem even though I had asked to lead mussaf. So when I asked why I couldn't lead they said that everything was assigned already. But they weren't even having services as of last Saturday! How could everything be assigned??? So I was sent to talk to someone else, and I said "I've been leining for you guys for the past 6 weeks and I really want to lead and I'm leaving in 2 weeks, can I please, please, please, please lead?" So the guy said he'd see if he could switch me with someone else. And then I woke up.

Luckily IRL Tirza e-mailed me the next day saying I could lead mussaf. Yay!

I also had a weird dream last week...

I dreamt that Micah was supposed to teach me how to do top plans. But then he was doing something else so I went to go play DDR. I was sort of sick and couldn't really control my motion and was staggering a lot, so I ended up hitting things, and somehow I singlehandedly destroyed the entire excavation!!!

I also woke up with the feeling that I was supposed to ask Micah about egalitarian principles in halacha (it's a chapter in a book of Conservative writings that he's reading, so it's not that random, except that I was convinced I needed to ask him. Though he hasn't finished the chapter yet. Total weirdness.)

On Shabbat I dreamt that there were 2 seats in a car heading back to Revadim, and someone took one, and Micah was going to take the other even though we were supposed to take the bus together. So he was all set to abandon me.

In real life we did take the bus back, but when I told him about the dream, he was like "I'd totally do that...." Thanks alot, Micah.

So I'm staying at [livejournal.com profile] boroparkpyro's for Tisha b'Av, since he was nice enough to put me up for the night. And it's not like he has to feed me. He still owes me a shout-out, though. After all, I'm spreading the joy that is his Yaq Ribon.

And I get to read eicha again! Yay! I didn't know they read in the morning as well. And we don't start till 9. Shinyness!

That ain't fair, here the guys start at 8 :P I don't think I'll be able to make it, I'm planning on going to sleep very late (or very early - 4 AM or thereabouts) and then getting up in the late afternoon, as right now the temperature is manageable, but if another heat wave is coming up.... ewww let's not even think about that. So I've thought up this plan to avoid the heat wave.

It's hot in Israel, as always. I can't fast without water....Do you not have AC? [Well I guess we don't in [livejournal.com profile] boroparkpyro's place, but there might be at davening...

AC? Nah. But if this keeps up (it's getting hotter and hotter each year - last year indoor temperature didn't rise above 26 C) I am going to have to have it installed next summer (though my savings will likely vanish in Norway *sigh*).
