Surviving Providence
May. 8th, 2004 11:58 pmShabbat was interesting to say the least.
[To steal Deena's cool journal style]
-There was a whole issue with the fact that dinner was at 6:30 [shabbat started at 7:40]. They wanted to have it early because my cousins were coming, and they ended up not coming
-Grandma and Grandpa kept on turning on and off lights for me, even though I didn't ask, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with that. I asked Shlomo after the fact, and he doesn't know.
+The walk to shul was relaxing. It was 45 minutes, but it didn't seem to take that long.
+The mechitza at the shul is all latticey and see through. They even brought the Torah to the women's side
+ People at the shul were nice and I was invited to lunch(es)
+Lunch was good.
+I napped and read all afternoon
-I need to get better books
-My Grandparents left and came back while I was davening mincha and they interrupted me
+It wasn't during the shmoneh esrei
-Havdallah was lonely
+It's lag ba'omer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know if I can do this again. Maybe I'll stay with someone from the shul instead of my Grandparents, but I can't insult them. I need to call Rabbi Seif tomorrow.
