Mute for a day
Sep. 19th, 2007 11:21 pm( cut for profanity )
I went to a grad student event at Hillel tonight. In my effort to meet new people and make friends, I completely lost my voice. I'm beyond hoarse. I need my voice! I can't lead services without my voice.
So
currentlee said I need to go on complete vocal rest tomorrow. I'm going to have to make myself a notecard that says something like:
Hi. My name is Rachel Adler. I lost my voice. Can you help me find it? In the meantime, I am on complete vocal rest. I apologize if I cannot respond to you, but I doubt you would want to hear my voice right now anyways. It's pretty painful.
Hopefully I won't have to say anything to the teachers of my classes tomorrow. Though I do have an event tomorrow night, a potluck dinner. Hopefully I can write quickly enough on a notepad so I can be a part of conversations.
Did I mention that this sucks?
Please, God, give me my voice back, so that I can pray to you on Yom Kippur and not torture others in the process.
