[The title comes from a Fresh Grocer trip with [livejournal.com profile] groovin_reuven. Basically I was looking for different items, saying "If I were pasta, where would I be?" "If I were flour, where would I be?" etc. And then I was looking for nuts.]

I ran some errands this morning, and my mom had left me a note asking me to pick up a gallon of milk. I intended to go to Cumberland Farms [local gas station/minimart] on the way home, and even said that to myself a bunch of times so as not to forget.

When I approached the exit for route 6, I thought to myself:
Voice of Practicality: Maybe I should just go to Stop & Shop. It's on the way.
Voice of Laziness:But do I really want to go actual grocery shopping?
VP:They have shiny things, like whole wheat pasta.
VL: Oh fine, allright, you win.

And so I went. And since I was there I might as well get whatever else I need, right?

I went into the aisle called "baking needs" on a whim. I needed kosher almond paste [which is impossible to get in Philly without a car or [livejournal.com profile] groovin_reuven's mom] and I was baking, so perhaps they would have it.

I spotted some small cans that said "almond filling." And then, next to them, "Almond paste." With a chaf-K. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I bought 6 cans. That's 6 batches of biscotti. And now I can have biscotti in my mishloach manot, instead of those wimpy chocolate chip cookies I planned on making. I mean come on, you have to admit the biscotti are far cooler.
