Uninspired

A few random things that have been left out of posts for various reasons:

-I got into tel es-safi. So now I have to do crazy logistical things for both digs, which I can't deal with until at least Sunday. I need a logistical break day where I just do everything I need to do.

-Celine has a show starting on the 21st, so I'm going up to New York to see it!

-I talked to Mom on Sunday. She wasn't mad about the credit card bill. Just that [livejournal.com profile] lopaanre and I both had larger than usual bills. And this week we get to add on SNL bagelness.

-I'm still figuring out what I want for my birthday. I know that one present [probably Grandma's but purchased by Mom] is going to be 100$ worth [or as much as can be brought back from Israel of kippot yarn of as many colors as they can find, minus black and white since they have those in the States. The other present [actually from mom and dad] is up in the air. Probably an ipod nano. But maybe a palm-pilot would make me more organized. And Ben said they use them on digs. So I could be useful!

-I sound like a foreigner, since I call it "the States."

-Women's Kabbalat shabbat went well. We had a full crowd. I led it. It was perfectly valid for me to lead it since I had such short notice to find someone else for this week, since NR wasn't around. My voice died at the end. I am not a Soprano. I am an Alto. Hear me belt!

-[livejournal.com profile] stone_'s kippah is about 3/4 of the way done. I'm haflway through the Cheat and almost to the point of starting the name. It might not be big enough so I might do a few extra rows at the bottom. This thing is already ginormous, though...

-I brough 8.00$ worth of chocolate at Godiva on Thursday. It was gone by Monday. Teatron does that to a hobbit. We really need a sanity budget, especially when ice cream is bought for the whole cast and crew [well, crew that was around].

-I'm going back to wearing sneakers on Shabbat. The only person who actually notices is no longer worth trying to impress [I gave up on that]. And sneakers are more comfy. And I miss Shabbat walks. [Not "Shabbat walks." No quotation marks.]

-I'm making a giant deli-roll meal this Shabbat. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

-And then there are guy issues, which I'm not posting here on the [livejournal.com profile] kressel principle that if you post about something in the future that is uncertain, then it won't happen the way you'd like it to. Not that this is always true, but why risk it? Maybe I'll make a friends-only post discussing the situation, but I'm not sure about that.

And finally- I haven't posted to Beyond BT in about 2 weeks now. I could say Teatron is the cause of that, and I would be partially truthful. But the main reason is that I can't think of anything to write. I could write now [I'm still not tired!] or tomorrow during Hellerstein's class. Tomorrow is Thursday, not Friday. Tomorrow is Thursday, not Friday. Tomorrow is Thursday, not Friday. Tomorrow is Thursday, not Friday. I keep on thinking that it's Friday. It's not. It's Thursday.

But yeah, nothing to write about. Financial issues as a BT haven't come up, since I still am operating on my parents' income. I don't have kids to educate yet. Seif is my Rav, I guess, but it's not like I went looking for him or Orit. I don't have many minhagim, the ones I do primarily come from Penn. Except the 3 hours thing. 3 hours makes me happy :) And I was sort of accidentally kiruved, I don't know that much about normal kiruv and how it's done and what could be done. All I know is about me. So yeah, that's about all the suggested topics for the past few weeks. I don't think a post about my trouble with Judaism now would be so appropriate for that forum. It won't help people, it'll just make them more depressed if anything. And everyone who thinks I'm off the derech will have proof. Not that I don't like being honest, but I don't need to wear my koferness on my sleeve there.

So any suggestions would be appreciated.

And there are people I owe e-mails to. That'll happen on Logistical Day, which will hopefully be soon. Or maybe if I'm bored during Hellerstein tomorrow.

"I know you can be underwhelmed, and you can be overwhelmed, but can you ever just be, like, whelmed?"

"I think you can in Europe."

"Accidentally mekarev?" C'mon. You know there's no such thing as an accident.

I'm stuck on my current post, too. I can't get around my anger at my in-laws, and that's not the sort of thing I ought to be saying on so public a forum as "Beyond BT."

It was a week in their archives. So I wouldn't sweat not posting. They've got plenty going on.
