Celine called me to tell me that Hamas had won the election. Which I already knew.
C:When are you going to Israel?
R:Mid-late June.
C:Are you still planning on going?
R:Of course!
C:Don't die,
R:I won't die. I'll come back...this time. Next time I'm making aliyah.

Silly Celine. Of course I'm going. You think I'd let something like a Hamas victory stop me from going to Israel?

And Mom and Dad haven't called frantically begging me not to go, so I think I'm fine.

In other news, some people have costumes. Other people have to bring costumes on Saturday night. Others must be fitted tomorrow. I still have to make potato kugel, but I am lacking potatoes and my roommate is asleep so I can't use the cuisinart anyways.

My cuisinart has a name. Lorena. If you can't figure it out, you're better off not knowing. Especially if you're male and nearby.

I'm kinda dead, so I'm treating myself to some law&order SVU [yes, I should be sleeping. but law and order!!!]

And does anyone have any lecha dodi ideas? I haven't decided on my 2 tunes [I always switch]

And [livejournal.com profile] jtersesk do you remember the tune they did at aish? i can't think of it now but i really like it.

I don't remember it. I'm sorry. It was really nice though. There are so many Lecha Dodi tunes floating around in my head. Hehe.

My favorite simple Lecha Dodi progression (suitable for a group that's no more musically inclined than a typical minyan) is the Abayudaya one for the first half, and Carlebach l'shana haba'a for the second half. Start with something new (to most people) but really simple, and transition into something everyone loves.

My goodness that's scary stuff. I've been listening to Rabbi Brody's shiur and his comments about the coming of Moshiach. I suppose that even when things look bad, they'll turn out to be good.
