theyellowhobbitUntil Harry Potter 6 is released!
I finally preordered it on amazon.com. I didn't pay extra for expidited shipping, so I'm not sure that it will actually arrive then. It might come a week from monday. But I don't really mind- I'm not sure if I'm allowed to open up the package on shabbat anyways. Though if I am allowed to open it up, that would be awesome. Shabbat is so long in the summer that I always have time to read, nap, and go to the park. I still remember when Harry Potter 5 came out. It was during staff week at Kutz, and my friend Greg Sager had preordered it. We ended up sitting together reading it side by side for a few hours. Then he had to go do something, so I got to read ahead, then I gave it to him and he read past where I was, so I didn't get to read it until he finished, but Deena came a few days later, and she had read her copy so she gave it to me.
It's only 672 pages this time, which means I can probably carry it around in my backpack, if I don't finish it over shabbat. [I wouldn't read it on the way to Drisha since I need to daven then, but on the ride home if I get a seat I usually read or crochet.
**edit** The delivery estimate is still July 16, despite the non-expidited shipping. So I do have to ask my Rabbi about it.
**edit #2** Duh. Of course I can't open it. It's considered tearing. Though maybe if a non Jew happened to want to open Harry Potter, read one page, and then give the book to me...
I'll have a fun motzei shabbat. I will be anti-social and read harry potter. Though I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be doing that.
