Last night Ilana Lyon was in NYC since she was flying out of JFK today to go to Israel. So she, Livia, Ari Gilder, Ari Levine, and I went out for dinner.

Afterwards, Ari Levine went to mincha-land, and the rest of us went to a park [not Central Park] and chilled. [Livia and I also davened mincha]. I spotted fireflies and pointed them out to everyone. We stood and watched them for a while. And for a few minutes of my life I was actually content.

This morning I was running 10 minutes late to Drisha. On my way to the subway I saw Yosef! I've never seen Yosef at the subway station before today, even though I figured he'd take the 1. It turns out he was running 45 minutes late because he accidentally slept in. So I got 2/3 a subway ride with Yosef [he got off at 96 to switch trains]. Whee!

Then at Drisha I finally reached the critical mass of Torah that my brain would allow. I really considered going home after Talmud, but I didn't want to miss my last Tanach class. But that required sitting through halacha.

I talked to Ana, my chevruta, and we decided to go for a walk outside instead of studying, since we were ahead. We walked for about a half hour, and I got a caramel frappuchino.

When we got back, we saw that the class was already in shiur [they had just started, but we couldn't enter as non-chalantly as we would have liked.] And by then, newly caffinated, I was once-again ready to learn.

I've learned my lesson- hobbits need fresh air and caffeine.
